ABOUT US
In the Southern
Barossa, residents, businesses and organisations form a vibrant
community promoting cohesiveness, lifestyle, heritage, business
opportunities, prosperity, events and promotion of the most significant
gateway to Australia's premier wine and food region, the Barossa Valley.
The SOUTHERN BAROSSA ALLIANCE is a focal point for this activity - a lively and committed country community and business group whose purpose is to invigorate community pride by energising volunteers and promoting local businesses - all with the aim of enhancing the region's living, lifestyle, economic and environmental prosperity to increase tourism, encourage population growth and stimulate economic and infrastructure development.

The SBA is an incorporated organisation
which fosters community cohesiveness, promotes regional activities,
tourism and local businesses, represents the Southern Barossa at State
and Local Government level, organises community events,
communicates regional activities and initiatives using 'traditional'
media and social media resources, and provides other regional volunteer
groups with support, governance and administrative assistance (eg:
assists in arranging community-event insurance covers, grant
applications and finance support, etc). Essentially, the SBA
brings together the whole gamut of support, representation, human
resources and administrative assistance for various community and
volunteer-led activities.
The SBA was created by a number of businesses, business groups and advocates and has an existing structure with a Constitution, an over-arching Committee, bank account, and network of expertise.
The SBA works with The Barossa Council, individuals (Councillors and locals) and organisations (eg: Barossa Tourism, SA Tourist Commission) to promote the region and lift its profile.
The SBA has successfully run community events (most notably the Barossa Stages of the Santos Tour Down Under), hosted international VIPs and increasingly is acknowledged as a 'go to' resource and a voice and advocate for local businesses and the community. The SBA acknowledges the help and financial support of the Barossa District Council in achieving its goals.
The SBA operates purely on a volunteer basis, where members can opt in or opt out of events, and participation.
The Southern Barossa region is hugely valued by all of us who live and work here.
Our unofficial motto is - we love the place we live!
If you have any questions, you are welcome to email or call ZOE PHILLIPS, Chair of SBA - info@southernbarossaalliance.com - or call 0409 825 885.
